BRIAN OMONDI

Brian Omondi is an upcoming young Kenyan marine research scientist and environmental conservationist, with a Bachelor’s Degree in Marine Resource Management from Technical University of Mombasa, Kenya.

Brian is committed to engaging and educating the next generation, and regularly involves young minds in his conservation efforts. He has a wealth of knowledge and experience in marine biology, and works tirelessly to raise awareness about the importance of protecting the ocean and its inhabitants. Through his work, Brian hopes to make a positive impact on the future of our planet's marine environment.

Brian Omondi

Director
Brian Omondi is a Kenyan marine research scientist and environmental conservationist with a Bachelor's Degree in Marine Resource Management. He has extensive experience in various conservation projects including mangrove restoration, sea turtle conservation, marine litter management, conservation education, research, community conservation, and community empowerment. Brian holds several positions in various organizations including Healthy and Environmentally Friendly Youth Ambassador for Kenya, Sea Turtle Ambassador, Earth Doctor, Field Coordinator, and Field Assistant.

Jenipher Masawa (MSc.)

Deputy Director
Jenipher is a highly skilled transdisciplinary ecologist and environmental biologist with a Master's degree from Tel Aviv University. She also holds a Bachelor's degree in Food Science and Technology from the University of Nairobi and several certifications in environmental and climate change fields. With her diverse background, Jenipher is a valuable asset to any organization. She has experience in community development, mentoring girls, and advocating for women's rights and social change. She is dedicated to promoting sustainable development and has a passion for using modern agricultural practices to improve food safety and security.

Chrispine Otieno Omondi

Project Coordinator

Pauline Mukila

Field Coordinator
Pauline Mukila is a passionate marine biologist based in coastal Kenya. She has a wealth of experience in the field and has played a key role in promoting marine conservation efforts. Her roles as Lead Marine Educator at the Marine Conservation Education Centre in Diani, Field Assistant at Eracoma Consultant Limited, and Field Assistant at Kenya Conservation of Aquatic Resources have all allowed her to contribute to the protection of marine ecosystems and the promotion of sustainability. With her in-depth understanding of marine biology, Pauline has been able to raise awareness about the importance of conservation and the impact of human activities on the ocean's delicate balance.

Rose Angulu

Aquatic Resources Manager
Rose Angulu is a marine researcher and environmentalist focusing on sustainable aquaculture/mariculture development and aquatic ecosystem conservation. She is an advocate for blue economy development, natural ecosystem conservation and community empowerment. She is a Marg-I-WIOMSA research grant recipient of the Silver Pompano project in the Kenya coast. She has also spearheaded the food security project undertaken by University of St Andrews and KMFRI. She is a commonwealth scholar pursing a MSc in Sustainable Aquaculture. She holds a Bachelor’s degree in Fisheries and Aquaculture from Jomo Kenyatta University of Agriculture and Technology, Nairobi Kenya.

Bakari Mwasengeza

Community Relation Manager
A dedicated and experienced Sea Turtle Ecologist in South Coast Kenya. Bakari Mwasengeza has a passion for marine conservation, he serves as a Sea Turtle Monitor at Diani Sea Turtle Watch. His role involves monitoring and observing the behavior of sea turtles, collecting data, and ensuring their protection. He has a wealth of experience in community relations and project implementation, which he has accumulated throughout his life as a coastal community fisher folk and conservationist in the marine field. Bakari's passion for marine conservation has driven him to contribute to the protection and preservation of sea turtle populations, making a meaningful impact on the local community and the environment.
